Whitespace [공백 Gongback] is not just an empty white space but a haven that highlights a subject.
Copy Salon, where various artists intersect and fill each other’s work, is a constant presence of whitespace for them.
Celebrating its tenth year of embracing the role of whitespace, Copy Salon is hosting its third annual exhibition, ≪Gongback Salon≫, in 2024.
Unlike traditional white cube galleries, the unique culture of Copy Salon accumulates over its printing site.
The content of the book is organized into editing, printing, paper, bookbinding, post-processing, and references, helping readers efficiently unleash their creativity through concise guidelines.
One interesting feature is its two-layer cover, which resembles a tool kit. The outer cover, made of corrugated cardboard with cut-out shapes of bookbinding tools, overlays an inner cover printed with images of those tools.
Ultimately, the project was successfully funded with the support of 72 backers on the crowdfunding platform Tumblbug as of June 9, 2021.
